Reminders and the Spelling List for the Week of November 30th

A Religion Test will be given on Thursday, December 3rd. The test will cover the material presented in Chapter 9.

A new Current Event Schedule was given to all third graders today. The next Social Studies Test will be Tuesday, December 8th. The test will cover Chapter 4.

A Science Test is scheduled for this Wednesday, December 2nd. The children will be tested on Chapter 3.

The third graders are reminded to practice the multiplication facts nightly. This week the children should review the eight times tables and master the nine times tables. We are starting a Unit on Division this month. Mastery of the multiplication facts is necessary!

Weekly Reminders for the Week of November 23rd

There will be no Spelling Test this week due to the short week. The list for the Week of November 30th will be posted on the Blog on Wednesday, November 25th.

The Work Folders will be sent home on Wednesday and should be returned to me by Wednesday, December 2nd.

The Vocabulary Test for Unit 5 is still scheduled for Wednesday, November 25th.

Wishing all third grade families a wonderful Thanksgiving Day and weekend! If possible, please join us for the Thanksgiving Prayer Service on Wednesday. The Service starts at 11:15 and dismissal is at 12:30.

Reminders and Spelling List for the Week of Nov. 9th

We are very excited at St. Jerome's to be offering a new science
program,"Portals to Science".
It is a completely hands on
experience.
We are asking that each child submit a $10
lab fee.
Submit your child's lab fee to the school office
by this Friday, November 13th.
If you have already done so,
please check with your child to make sure it was submitted

and if so send in a note to the school office.

Book Reports are due Thursday. The completed Report includes
the Diorama and written summary of the book. Children
should write
a rough copy before writing the final copy.

The third graders have memorized four poems. Ask your son/
daughter to recite one or two for you.

Reminders for the Week of November 2nd

Friday(Oct. 30th)-Work Folders were sent home with the children. The Spelling List and an extra copy of the Book Report format were included in the folder. Children should turn in the rough copy of their summaries before writing the final copy. Again, the completed Book Report is due November 12th as the 11th is a holiday. Monday- School Mass at 11:00; all are invited to attend! Science Test, Wednesday- Children should study the Chapter Review on pp. 62-63

Tuesday-Children should enter a post on their Reading Blogs. I strongly encourage the children to use the List of Suggested Journal Topics. I am pleased with their work!

Wednesday-Science Test!!! Quiz on multiplication facts! Children should continue to practice 10 minutes each night at home. All students should be studying the 6 & 7 times tables

Pertinent Information for the Week of October 26th

Monday- Social Studies Study Guide sent home with the children this afternoon. Test is Thursday-Chapter 2.

Tuesday- Children should type a journal entry on their Blogs. Please refer to the Suggested Topics for Journal Entries that was sent home last Monday.

Wednesday-Language Arts Exam covering pages 62-73(NOUNS) in the textbook. Spelling Exam-words with the consonant j and s.

Thursday-Vocabulary Exam-Unit 4 as well as a Social Studies Exam covering Chapter 2-Forests and Prairies-pp. 29-41. Children should type a journal entry on their Blogs. Again, please refer to Suggested Topics for Journal Entries.

Friday-Halloween Parade held in the backyard of the school. Please refer to the Family Envelope for additional details. Work Folder sent home with the children and a Third Grade Newsletter. New Spelling List will be sent home with the children. Test-Friday, November 6th.
